NBA Playoffs Presser Fashion Recap #1

Fire up the drinking game… the NBA’s best are back at pushing the boundaries of style during post game press conferences.  This has become a thing over the last few years, and while it’s not totally dead during the regular season, it reaches nuclear levels once the playoffs roll around.  Expect these when warranted, most likely after a weekend, or if Russel Westbrook heads out to dinner wearing a suit of armor of something.

Best Duo: Blake Griffin & Chris Paul

Blake is all tieless-business (would love to see a little less poof in that pocket square).  Chris Paul dons the thick glasses, but they’re not comically huge.  And is that jacket chambray?  Digging the blue on blue on blue.

Craziest Duo: Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant

Seriously.  Cannot… wait… to see what these two come up with during the rest of the playoffs.

Best Solo: Deron Williams

DWill week 1

Getting a little matchy-matchy between the lapel flower and tie, but nice mix of patterns and deep colors here.  Good stuff.

Best Use of an Old Kimono: LeBron James

If the “print” trend isn’t proof of the boring can be good / boredom is bad theory… not sure what is.

Best Tribute to a former teammate?  James Harden.

He’s now facing Westbrook.  Was he sorta channeling him?  Halfway?  Just pec coverage with muted pleather instead of full torso with a fabric plate of reflectiveness?

And the rest:  Carmelo Anthony’s Hat Attack & the Honey Nut Cheerio (okay, camel) colored jacket.  LA loses, Dwight Howard wears linen.  Kevin McHale channels his inner Willy Loman.
